16 ‒ 20 February 2026
Dear friends of Ukraine,
The Munich Security Conference ended without any major breakthroughs. However, concrete steps were taken by Ukraine's largest drone manufacturer, TAF Industries, and the German company Wingcopter. They announced at the conference plans to produce Ukrainian drones in Germany. This will enable TAF Industries to rapidly expand production at a secure location. Wingcopter complements the applications of its drones to include collecting information from the air, monitoring areas, and early threat detection. A win-win for both.
No win is the suspension of diesel deliveries from Hungary and Slovakia to Ukraine. In addition, Hungary is putting pressure on Ukraine by threatening to reduce electricity and gas exports. Companies should not be burdened in addition to the existing energy crisis. We therefore expect the EU and Germany to work towards a stable and reliable energy supply.
Despite these challenges, cooperation with the Ukrainian defence industry is progressing, and not only on German soil. The German company Stark has opened a research and development centre in Ukraine. The Virtus drone is to be further developed there. The drone can already fly without direct communication with the pilot, accelerate to 250 km/h in attack mode, and take off and land vertically. Stark gave the participants of our delegation insight into its activities in Ukraine last summer. Another defence delegation is planned for 17–20 March – register now!
Kind regards
