Dear friends of Ukraine,
A survey of German companies this week shows that they are reassessing their risks following the numerous attacks on warehouses. They are looking into insurance, spreading their goods across several warehouses and reducing their stock levels. As always, companies are adapting to new circumstances.
It was also an interesting week in Ukrainian politics. The video of former Defence Minister Fedorov, in which he calls for elections in Ukraine despite the war, has left many citizens shaking their heads. Fedorov may have manoeuvred himself into the sidelines with his over-the-top intervention. In any case, his successor, proposed by the President, was clearly confirmed by the Ukrainian Parliament. More explosive for the President, however, are the new investigations by the anti-corruption authority into members of the presidential administration.
With temperatures in Kyiv reaching 30 degrees this week, many people are not talking about politicians, but about the coming winter. russia has already struck the first combined heat and power plant and is significantly ramping up its production of ballistic missiles. Ukraine has no means of defending against the missiles, and there is still no discernible strategy for getting through the winter unscathed.
Kind regards
