Last week, we met with the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO) to discuss the current IP landscape and opportunities for closer cooperation.
Key takeaways from the meeting:
▪️ The IP Office presented its initiatives, including the IP Mediation Centre, National IP & Innovations Hub, the IPR Infringement Monitoring Center and the IP Academy, aimed at strengthening IP culture and dispute resolution in Ukraine.
▪️ The Office actively cooperates with enforcement agencies and e-commerce platforms to enhance IP protection – for example, by organizing training programs for customs officers and information campaigns against counterfeiting.
▪️ We discussed Eurointegration and the importance of aligning Ukraine’s IP framework with EU standards ahead of accession.
▪️ New draft laws on patents and utility models, trademarks, copyright and related rights, and trade secrets have been prepared, and AHK Ukraine will contribute to this process on behalf of our members.
